— Adopt-a-Path Is On for Sat., Feb. 27, 8:30 a.m.–
Join other members tomorrow morning at 8:30 a.m. for TWG’s quarterly Adopt-a-Path pick-up and Breakfast Club!  Enjoy good conversation, hot coffee, a snack and a pleasant walk on the pathway. This is a fun activity for everyone!  The group meets in the parking lot of Shadowbend Park on Lake Woodlands Dr. at Shadowbend Cir. After a chat over coffee, juice and morning treats, we take to the pathway, making our adopted area litter-free! Trash grabbers and bags provided; wear walking shoes and bring gloves; wagons welcome!  Let Andra know that you are coming andran@gmail.com or call 281-298-6062.
 
–Members Welcome at TWG Board Meeting on Tues., March. 2, 5:30 p.m.–
All TWG members are welcome at the monthly meeting of the TWG Board of Directors. Get the scoop on upcoming activities and give input on your interests. Meeting is held at 8203 Millennium Forest Dr. at the Parks, Recreation and Environmental Services Facility. Contact Debra debra@debrawymore.com to get an item on the agenda.
 
–Backyard Composting Made Easy on Sat., March. 6, 11 a.m.–
Master Gardeners teach the basics of backyard composting, troubleshooting tips, starting a worm bin and using the finished product in the garden.  Take-home materials, freebies and a drawing for a free bin.  Compost bins are also available for purchase.  A free program of The Woodlands Township, the compost class is held at the Parks, Recreation and Environmental Services Facility at 8203 Millennium Forest Dr.  Call Bob for more information at 281-210-3924.
 
–Going Green Takes to the Road on Mon., March 8, at 7 p.m.—
Making The Woodlands A Bicycle Friendly Community is the topic of discussion at the next Going Green lecture with David Hitchcock, TWG member with Houston Advanced Research Center, and Ron Keichline, from the Woodlands Cycling Club.  Program begins at 7 p.m. at South County Regional Library on Lake Robbins Rd. in Town Center.  Contact Randall for more information rcade55@consolidated.net.
 
— Kemp’s Ridley Sea Turtle: A Conservation Story on Thurs., March 11 at 7:30 p.m.–
Walk in the Woods Nature Lecture Series present Carole Allen with the Sea Turtle Restoration Project.  Featured in O Magazine, the local heroine reveals the adventurous life of the endangered Kemp’s Ridley sea turtle. Learn how conservation efforts on the Texas coast are increasing the numbers of the rare Texas treasure. This free program of The Woodlands Township meets at McCullough Jr. High School.  Volunteer greeters needed, contact Lucinda at lvaldes@thewoodlandstownship-tx.gov or call 281-210-3925.
